Description
This striking bird’s-eye view of San Diego and the surrounding area, oriented with northeast at the top, was published in 1970 by Cooper Graphics of La Jolla. The colorful image captures the geographic diversity of the region: a dense beach city surrounded by mountains and foothills, which trail off into the Coachella and Imperial Valleys and the deserts of Southern California.
The rugged topography is emphasized, and perhaps a bit exaggerated, with bright green. Easily legible labels identify numerous towns, points of interest, tourist attractions, and much more.
