Description
This base map of northern Great Britain was originally published by the Ordnance Survey in 1933. Though the base image is outdated, it provides a detailed overview of the regional topography, transportation network, and major strategic infrastructure. Overprinting performed by the U.S. Army Map Services in October 1942 notes approaches to airfields at Ayrshire and Stornoway and assigns a designation of CONFIDENTIAL. Further annotations, in manuscript, provide information on radio beacons.
