Description
Held in Chicago to celebrate the 400th anniversary of Columbus’ arrival in the New World, the Columbian Exposition was also a way for the Windy City to show the world that it had bounced back from the devastating fire of 1871.
This collection of 200+ images captures nearly every building, exhibit, and attraction found within Daniel Burnham’s White City and adjacent Midway Plaisance. Each photograph is accompanied by a brief caption, providing a fascinating snapshot (literally) of the many details from the World’s Fair.

Condition Description: 101 pp. photograph album of the Columbian Expo. Bound in original gilt brown cloth clovers that measure approximately 7" x 5.25". A few small spots on the front and a large area of adhesive residue on the back. Contents are generally good. The front two images are heavily soiled and there is scattered wear, a bit of light waviness, and faint fingerprints in several areas throughout.
