Description
This uncommon collection of maps was authored by Dr. E. Zharsky as part of a broader course on Ukranian studies. It was published in New York in 1961 by the Shevchenko Scientific Society, Inc., a research organization exiled from Ukraine in 1940 but with branches in numerous major cities.
The booklet begins with statistics presenting Ukraine by the numbers, listing ethnographic groups, grain exports, and other relevant data. This is followed by a dozen pages of maps that outline the geographic extent of Ukrainian lands, geological strata, mining, agriculture, industrial production, transportation systems, and more.
