Description

“See where the “Bring ‘Em Back Alive” man captures his animals. This Map helps you follow Frank Buck’s adventures over his radio program.” [Text under title].

Frank Buck was an animal collector, author, film director, and global adventurer that brought back tens of thousands of live (and dead) specimens from numerous trips overseas between 1910 and 1940. In addition to a radio program, he was the focus of comic books, a full-length feature film, and television series.

This map was issued in The Official Handbook for the Frank Buck Adventurer’s Club, published by the Pepsodent Company in 1934 – possibly a handout at the 1934 Century of Progress Exposition in Chicago. Buck displayed a number of wild animals at the World’s Fair, presumably sourced from the broad area approximating to British Malaya depicted within the image.
