Fralinger’s Guide and Map of Boardwalk

For GOODNESS Sake give them the Best!

This charming ‘Boardwalk Information Guide’ was issued around 1930 to promote Fralinger’s salt-water taffy, an iconic Atlantic City institution that first began in the late 19th century. One side of the sheet presents a bird’s-eye view of the coastline, courtesy of Fairchild Aerial Surveys of New York. There is also a simple reference map of the boardwalk, which labels the different local piers, theaters, moving picture theaters, Fralinger’s Stores (four total), and Other Amusements. The verso of the brochure offers facts about Atlantic City, illustrated scenery, and advertisements for Fralinger’s famous taffy.

The piece is undated, but the presence of the Atlantic City Municipal Auditorium and Convention Hall on the accompanying order form (completed in 1929) indicates a probable publication date of c. 1930.
