This fifty seven page geography textbook/atlas contains dozens of custom maps covering all areas of the ancient world. Continental outlines and geographic features are printed, while the student would have been instructed to fill in other details manually.
Adjacent to each map is a recommended exercise which involves labeling various places, coloring territory, or other activities. This particular example has almost all of the maps ‘filled-in’ and many of them are hand-colored. Topics include the spread of Greek Colonies, The Mediterranean World in 500 B.C. and Regal Rome.
One of several editions issued as part of Foster’s Historical Outline Map Series, detailed in further on the inside of the cover. Edited by Mary M. Porter and published by the Historical Publishing Company in Topeka, Kansas in 1907.
