Description
This uncommon unit history commemorates the WWII campaign of the 334th Infantry Regiment, part of the 84th Infantry ‘Railsplitter’ Division. Numerous folding maps, captioned photographs, and a unit roster supplement the chronological summary of the action from training to V-E Day.
The book was written by Corporal Perry S. Wolff and printed in August 1945 by Mannheimer Grosdruckerei. An inscription near the front appears to have been written by the cartographer (possibly an inside joke?) – “Who put whose picture in what books?” – Jim Burbank. This example includes the original cardboard shipping container, address from PFC J.R. Koenig, Company F, to his family in West New York.
