Description

“To own a Packard is to enjoy luxurious transportation” claims this automobile advertisement, published in a 1933 issue of Fortune magazine. The text continues to describe how the Packard is not a luxury and can be afforded by most, but rather that ownership displays prestige and sound judgment typical of the wealthy.

Assurbanipal, the last great king of Assyria, is pictured above surrounded by a multi-ethnic group of attendants. An obvious attempt to relate princely opulence with automobile ownership.
