Description
Eager to shake off the woes of the Great Depression, Americans hit the road in droves during the second half of the 1930’s. This brochure was issued by the Florida West Coast Association in an effort to capitalize on the trend, and includes a number of stylized road maps showing easy accessibility for the motorist in the region.
Accompanying descriptive text and photographs highlight many of the cities and attractions along each route. The highlight is a centerfold road map of the state with the upper (eastern) half darkened out. “Good Roads Lead All The Way – To and Through West Florida. Come by Railroad – Steamship – Airplane – Motorbus or in Your Own Car or Yacht.”

Condition Description: 24 pp. brochure printed in sepia, folded over and with stapled binding. Brittle paper has led to separation along the top and bottom of the fold line along all sheets, with varying levels ranging from .25" to 2". Half of the front cover has completely separated and has been repaired with archival tape. Contents remain complete and in good condition otherwise. Rubberstamp dated Oct. 23 1936 on the last page.
