Hupp Motor Company was an automobile manufacturer that got its start at the 1909 Detroit Auto Show, where investment money was acquired to bring into full production a prototype constructed the year prior. The company grew rapidly through the mid-1920s, but production and sales began to decline shortly before the Depression.
More powerful luxury models were introduced to appeal to a more wealthy clientele, such as the Hupmobile Six, Custom Six, and Custom Eight sedans advertised here. Though the accompanying text references the low purchase price, customers failed to materialize and production was halted the year following publication and bankruptcy was filed in 1940.
Published in New York as part of a 1938 issue of Fortune magazine.
