Description
This bird’s eye view of San Francisco is oriented with the west at the top, perhaps to better show the location of the ‘famous restaurants’ and nightclubs identified in the legend at the bottom of the page.
More likely, the image was used previously in an earlier edition of Widner’s Guide and was completely repurposed to promote a specific group of subscribed businesses. Hence the map including 26 separate points of interest, when only 20 locations are labeled!
This particular example certifies that the Monderand Family were the honored guests at Di Maggio’s Restaurant (number 13) on June 27, 1961.
