Description
This amusing bit of English ephemera seeks to promote the local needle industry of Stratford-upon-Avon, the famous birthplace of the ‘Immortal Bard’, William Shakespeare. Numerous samples are enclosed within cardboard covers that show a quaint British village (front) and a basic plan of the city (back). Nearby villages like Studley and Redditch had large needle-making industries well into the 20th century, making Stratford-upon-Avon a primary market for export and sale.
