Austria during the ‘Age of Metternich’

Description
This French map of the Austrian Empire and parts of the German Confederation was published in Paris by Langlois Fils in 1830. Under the authoritarian regime of Chancellor Klemens von Metternich, Austria evolved into an absolutist state that severely suppressed domestic unrest during a period of increasing revolutionary activity throughout Europe.
The image shows the various provinces of the Austrian Empire outlined in different colors, with an unusually shaped region in the south highlighted entirely in blue. It’s located near the border with the Ottoman Empire, a perennial enemy of the Holy Roman Empire, and may reflect recent territorial changes.
