Description

Though it’s largely over-simplified, this colorful map highlights the migratory patterns of many of America’s duck, geese and swan species. The United States is divided into separate flyways, organized by color. Forty five illustrations of waterfowl grace the image, with an accompanying index in the lower left.

The map was drawn by Jacob Bates Abbott for the November 1946 edition of Holiday magazine. On the verso is the accompanying article, which outlines ongoing conservation efforts.
