Dist-O-Map [California]

A handy guide to travel distances in California.

This spinning chart, known as a volvelle, was copyrighted in 1968 by the Plumly Manufacturing Corporation of Ft Worth, Texas. By turning the center wheel, a user could point to a number of cities across California, and by reading the numbers on the map, easily determine the distances from that location. Highways and Interstates are numbered, including those under construction (notably I-5). Insets of the Bay Area and Los Angeles are provided on the right.
