Description

After visiting amusement parks with his daughter, Walt Disney had an idea for an attraction adjacent to his movie studios in Burbank to entertain visiting fans. He soon realized that the proposed site was too small, and instead bought 160 acres of land near Anaheim, California in 1953. Just two years later, Disneyland opened to international press and acclaim.

This bird’s eye view, offered as “your personal guide to Disneyland” was published the park’s second year of operation. Letters identify the primary regions according to a legend on the right side of the page, while the lower left contains a text box with portions of the original dedicatory speech by Walt Disney himself. The verso includes a list of facilities and services available throughout the park.
