Description

This interwar publication is an ephemeral visual celebration of the German Armed Forces during a period of deliberate international restrictions from the results of World War I. Over 250 collectible cigarette card images are adhered to captioned boxes and organized according to various branches of the service including the Air Force (Luftwaffe), Navy (Kriegsmarine), and Engineers (Pionierdienst).

The inclusion of U-Boats, organized air forces, and warships of over 10,000 tons were all flagrant violations of terms imposed by the Treaty of Versailles, publicly disregarded by Hitler the year prior to publication. Descriptive text is also presented in the form of thinly veiled propaganda.
