Description
This simplified overview of the complex military circumstances surrounding the outbreak of Operation Desert Storm was published in Dallas, Texas by America’s Major Players, Inc. in 1991. It was originally distributed to accompany a series of ‘collectible’ trading cards that represented various military personnel, political actors, weaponry, vehicles, and other material used in the engagement on both the American and Iraqi sides.
The colorful image dotted with rudimentary symbols that show major infrastructure, military installations, geographic features, and oil refineries – evidently of interest to the audience. A chart on the verso showcases the various munitions employed by the different armies, ranging from the portable Redeye surface-to-air missile to 7-ton SCUD ICBMs.
