Description
This tremendous panoramic view covers the Dallas-Arlington-Fort Worth megaplex in northeastern Texas. The transportation system is emphasized in vibrant white, magically free of the odious traffic that plagues the region. Neighborhoods, universities, lakes and freeways are individually labeled.
Overseeing all is a United States Air Force YF-16, known colloquially as the Fighting Falcon. The all purpose fighter whose operational career continues to this day was first approved for production in 1976. Given the artist signature (Normans?) and date (1975) in the lower left, it’s probably safe to assume the view was issued by General Dynamics to celebrate the fighter’s production commencement.
