Description
This interesting assembly of photographs was published in Lincoln, Nebraska in 1910 and issued as a supplement to The Nebraska Teacher. Named portraits of each County Superintendent of Schools can be found within their respective county borders. Almost half (~42) of the state’s 93 counties are led by women and it appears that Clara Thorp (Garfield County) is African American. State Superintendent E.C. Bishop, pictured lower left, is credited as having introduced the first 4-H programs into Nebraska in the late 1890s.

Condition Description: Sharply creased twice along two vertical folds, as issued. Separations along old folds, plus several irregular tears amounting to about 3.5", have been repaired on the verso with archival tape, with no image loss as a result. About good condition overall.
