Description

This 16th-century scientific print offers a basic outline for the process of measuring the altitude of the sun, along with descriptive text about the underlying astronomical principles. An interesting diagram of a sundial can be found on the verso. Published in Antwerp in 1574, originally as part of a scientific work by Petrus Apianus (after his death).
