Description
Published by the Regional Transportation Authority, this map highlights the commuter rail network on a very attractive black background. Seven separate lines are brightly shown traveling in every direction from the downtown city center. Text on the front and verso explains the benefits of taking the commuter rail, including average travel times, bus connections, and the low cost of travel.
Due to financial mismanagement (and perhaps a bit of political corruption), the RTA was reorganized in 1983, sparking the creation of Pace and Metra, which now serve the greater Chicago area.
