Description
This magnificent pictorial map of New York City provides a historic glimpse of The Big Apple from the mid-1950’s. It was drawn by Ira Moss and published by Moss Art in 1954.
Restaurants, night clubs, hotels, and sightseeing trips can be found by the scores within the image – each numbered and identified in the corresponding index. Numerous vignettes (nearly 400 in all) illustrate many of the city’s most notable cultural institutions, historic sites, public spaces, and iconic landmarks.
The verso features a ‘digest of information’ containing further details on various highlights, as well as a subway map of Manhattan.

Condition Description: Creasing and moderate wear along originally issued fold lines, including small pinholes at fold intersections. Several areas of separation and edge tears have been repaired on the verso with archival tape. Light toning around the outer edges, consistent with age. Remains in good to very good condition overall.
