Description

This eye-catching map of Pasadena, California shows a simple outline of the city shortly before the United States entry into World War II. City limits are colored in red while a bolder shade identifies the primary thoroughfares of the Arroyo Seco Parkway, Fair Oaks Avenue, and Colorado Street. An absence of the red color identifies the location of Union National Bank. Streets, schools, and other points of interest are labeled within the image, and topography is depicted pictorially.

The map was drawn by John Lynde and published in October of 1941 by the Login Printing and Binding Company. It was issued as a promotional item by the Union National Bank of Pasadena and features several advertisements for the financial firm on the verso. Also included is a street index and table of distances from Pasadena to various points across California and the West.
