Description

Identifiable by its distinctive blue tinge and inevitable browning, the cheap pulp paper shows this is a wartime publication, but its uses were quite varied. On one side of the folding map is a large map of Honolulu in the Territory of Hawaii (statehood would not come until 1959), with an inset of the area near the harbor. A list of common and obscure Hawaiian phrases is available on the right, along with a detailed street index and locations of over 150 places of interest.

On the verso are separate maps of the island of Oahu and the complete Hawaiian island chain. On the latter is an interesting inset showing the islands’ central location to important points throughout the Pacific Theater.
