This unusual, and somewhat impractical, souvenir globe was created by the Chicago-based B. & D. Products Co. for sale at the 1933 World’s Fair. Colloquially known as the Centennial Exposition, it was held along the Lake Michigan shoreline to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Windy City. Therefore, it’s a bit odd that the commemorated dates are 1893 (the Columbian Exposition) – 1933! The globe presents only very rudimentary geographic information, though there is a (non-functioning) calendar that rotates within the base.

Condition Description: Small tin globe, about 2" in diameter, set in a steel base with an embossed seal. Light wear and some tarnishing. Calendar portion appears to be non-functioning. Good condition overall.
