Description

This tranquil view of early Chicago presents a harmonious co-existence between the first white settlers and the local Native Americans. Fort Dearborn is clearly visible, along with a smattering of other buildings hugging the shore of the river. Drawn by Seth Eastman after an original created by Henry Schoolcraft.
