Description

This dainty handkerchief with charming scalloped edges and blue trim presents a lovely little map of Chicago’s downtown area after a period of serious development. Nearly all of the buildings depicted or labeled, Merchandise Mart, Wrigley Building, Shedd Aquarium, Board of Trade, the new Post Office, and Soldier Field among them, were constructed within 10-15 years prior to its creation.

Chicago’s revitalized commercial district and adjacent lakefront would soon host an upcoming World’s Fair to celebrate the city’s dramatic growth in the preceding century.
