Cherokee Indian Reservation Boundary Tree
Souvenir placemat of the Qualla in North Carolina.
Out of stock
Description
Though the title refers to a Cherokee Indian Reservation, in reality the area set aside in North Carolina known as ‘The Qualla’ was purchased by the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians and is held in a federal trust, thus not a true reservation. Semantics aside, tourism is a critical component of the region’s economy, and this placemat was issued in the early 1950’s to promote the Boundary Tree Lodge.
Major attractions and rivers are highlighted in red, and Native American symbols can be seen around the border.
