Description
This colorful map of Paris highlights the city’s famous Metro system during the Interwar Period. Thirteen different operating lines and their respective stations are identified throughout the image, overlaid atop a base street plan that notes many of the major attractions. Line 14 was nearing completion, as was an extension of Line 11 to Mairie des Lilas. Text in French, English, and German on the verso provides brief instructions, a rate list, and principal points of interest (French only).
Designed by L.H. Bestelle and printed in Paris by the Société Saint-Quentinoise d’Imprimerie. Published in 1936 by the Paris Metropolitan Railway Company.
