Interesting German map of Japan.

Description
This lovely engraved map of Japan shows the island with an unusual orientation and divided into historical provinces and seven ‘circuits’. The image is based off an earlier map designed by the noted cartographer Robert de Vaugondy, issued more than six decades prior.
The lack of updated content is reflective of Japan’s relative geographic inaccessibility, as well as the economic realities of cartography at the time. Published anonymously in Prague in 1812.
