Volvelles were popular geographic games among school children in the late 1920’s and early 1930’s. This particular example shows data related to countries in the Western Hemisphere, such as government types (including colonial governing body), principal export products, population, the year settled and the discoverer. The type of information shown presents an exploitative and imperialistic attitude that was common during that period. A back wheel would have also been present on this example, providing similar information for each state in America.
