This map of the St. Lawrence River and Gaspe Peninsula in Canada was issued by the local hotel association to draw in tourism, especially during the fiercely competitive summer months.

Illustrations celebrating the region’s rich historic heritage and natural beauty compete for space on the image with transportation information, text captions (primarily in French) and decorative elements like portraits and coats of arms. Only the most practical and commercial information – an introduction to the map, ferry services, and local advertisements – are provided in English. An inset map of Quebec City, capital of the territory, is provided in the upper left and on the verso are ads for local hotels and motels.
