California Bicentennial Print Series

Five reduced prints of artwork showcasing California’s natural and historic diversity.

These print sheets were given away free of charge by the Standard Oil Company in the years prior to the California Bicentennial Celebration as a promotional effort to raise money for the event. Recipients could send back the order forms at the bottom of the page to obtain larger 12″ x 16″ copies of the art prints or a commemorative bronze medallion. The prints are based on original watercolor paintings by France Carpenter that show prominent buildings from across the state; highlighting its architecture, culture and history. Price is for the set of five.
