Description

Broad Ripple is a charming little neighborhood about five miles north of downtown Indianapolis, Indiana. Originally established as a separate village in 1837, it was incorporated as part of the capital city in 1922 but retains a vibrant and independent identity.

This map was published to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the founding of the town and highlights the local businesses, historic sites, institutions, and recreational opportunities that set the area apart. Though the emphasis is certainly on advertising and promoting company information, a block of text in the lower right provides a brief history of Broad Ripple.

Designed and illustrated by Eleanor Rayl. Published in 1987 by Mountain Graphics on behalf of The Broad Ripple Village Association.
