Description

This finely engraved map from the late 1860’s shows a large territory that east of Lake Huron, including the British provinces of Quebec and New England in the United States. The former includes extensive information on land grants and property ownership, along with more traditional details like transportation routes, settlement names, and geographic features.

Special attention is given to railroad lines, which are shown in both their completed and projected states. The map also includes an inset of the island of Newfoundland, and city plans of Quebec and Montreal.

Engraved by S. Hall and published in London by Longman & Company in 1869.
