Description
Despite being issued in at least 4 different editions (according to the text), this map of Mexico’s Baja California is uncommon, with less than five examples of each found in WorldCat. The brightly colored image shows a transportation overview of the mountainous state on the U.S. border, famous for Tijuana’s nightlife, incredible surfing, and rugged terrain.
Roads, ranging in condition from paved to passable, are noted according to the legend in the lower left. Airports, missions, Indian cave paintings, resorts, and proposed harbors of refuge are also identified. A decorative compass rose can be seen in the upper right, adjacent to an inset showing Baja in relation to the rest of the United States.
Designed by Mike McMahan and published in Los Angeles in 1981 by McMahan Bros. Desk Company, Inc.
