Description

This distasteful novelty game allows the player to maneuver two small beads onto approximate locations of Hiroshima and Nagasaki – literally ‘replaying’ two of the most destructive attacks in human history and the only time atomic weapons have ever been used in war. Tokyo is also labeled, but not an available target; perhaps because there was nothing left.

The piece was ostensibly designed for a juvenile audience by the A.C. Gilbert Company of New Haven, Connecticut. At the time, the company was one of the largest toy manufacturers in the world and the item reflects the widespread contemporary contempt of Japan and its inhabitants.
