Description

This vibrant lithographed map of Asia was published in Chicago in 1908 by Rand McNally. Bright colors identify the various kingdoms and empires between the Mediterranean Sea and the Pacific Ocean and from the Arctic Circle to the Indian Ocean. Topography is depicted in hachure and both place names and geographic features are labeled across the image.

The verso includes an exhaustive alphabetized list of all toponyms contained within the borders. Advertisements for the publishing firm can be seen on the covers, in addition to a rubberstamp identifying the original seller as the Old Corner Book Store in Boston, Massachusetts.
