This commemorative volume was published in 1947 by the U.S. Army’s Historical Division as part of the American Forces in Action Series. The 120+ pages outline the Allied combat efforts at the Battle of Anzio, which began with an amphibious operation on January 22 1944, and concluded in May with a final planned assault on Rome. A carefully curated chronology of events is accompanied by numerous black-and-white photographs and a series of 25 color-printed maps.
