Description
This striking embossed snapshot of New Imperialism presents a smirking Uncle Sam contentedly smoking a cigar, with a bald eagle perched on his shoulder. He stands between two maps, each with small flags pinpointing American possessions across the globe (including Cuba). Racial diversity is also celebrated, although it’s stereotypical and hierarchical, with conquest implied through the use of sword, shield, and palm fronds in the foreground.
