Description

This amusing American Airlines system map/board game was published in Springfield, Massachusetts in 1955 by the Milton Bradley Company. It was included as a giveaway in specially marked boxes of Cheerios cereal, which also contained playing pieces and a spinner (not included).

The primary image highlights the operational routes of American Airlines across the United States, Mexico, and Canada. Accompanying instructions provide details on how to play five separate games for up to four players each, with the board comprised of major stops across the AA aviation network.

The verso presents a checkered game board and instructions for a sixth game, as well as various diagrams and blocks of text that describe the operational procedures of American Airlines. Details cover the aircraft of the fleet, the role of radio communications, events during take-off, and the various components of a modern airplane.
