Description
This detailed plan of Alexandria, Virginia, was originally created in the 1940s by the Army Map Service. The large-scale image allows for the presentation of a wealth of information, including the footprints of individual buildings and the outline of important infrastructure. Features of interest include Arlington National Cemetery, Washington National Airport, a Bureau of Public Roads Test Track, and Bolling Air Force Base. This Turkish-language example was issued around 1956, likely as part of joint training programs between the U.S. and Turkish militaries.
