Description
Before onboard air-conditioning, flights could get quite warm, especially in the tropical locales of Asia often frequented by the planes of Air-India. This souvenir fan was distributed to the airlines’ passengers sometime after the company extended service to New York in 1960.
One side presents an abstract world map, oriented with east at the top, that highlights the company’s routes in operation, while the obverse contains a romantic scene emblematic of India’s allure.
