Description
This WWII-era photograph captures the precise moment that thousands of pounds of bombs struck the Focke-Wulf Flugzeugbau AG aircraft factory in Marienburg, East Prussia (today part of Poland). The plant was the primary manufacturing center for the Fw 190, one of Germany’s most effective fighter aircraft. It was bombed twice, in October 1943 and April 1944 – I am uncertain which of these operations the photograph represents.
