Although a tornado delayed the park’s opening in 1974, Adventureland has since been operating at a (relatively) uninterrupted pace and has expanded greatly since this c. 1981 view was issued. The cartoonish depiction shows the park shortly after it incorporated attractions from the closed Riverview Amusement Park in nearby Des Moines.

Amusements are exaggerated and depicted in full color, while more mundane facilities are identified according to the legend in the lower right.
