Description

This finely engraved view shows the spacious interior of St. Stephen’s Walbrook, a historic church in London. The edifice was designed by Sir Christopher Wren and built between 1672 and 1679, replacing an earlier medieval church destroyed during the Great Fire of London (1666).

St. Stephen’s is considered one of Wren’s masterpieces, with the 60+ ft. dome based on the original design for St. Paul’s. Published in an unknown English periodical in September 1750.
