Vibrant and fun pictorial map of southern California.

Though the emphasis of this map is on the rolling hills of Orange, Los Angeles, and San Diego counties, the image extends to include all of California and portions of neighboring Arizona, Utah, and Nevada. The publisher, the Automobile Club of Southern California, cleverly distorted the relative distances; making the entire region appear accessible by a quick drive.

Small vignettes throughout illustrate the myriad of historic sites, natural landmarks, agricultural products, and recreational opportunities. Further attractions from around the state are shown within the border across the top and right side. Pictorial topography combined with a sharp color palette gives the map a wonderful aesthetic and certainly makes one want to hit the roads in California!
