Description

This charming map of Cincinnati is created on a grid system, allowing for easy location of amusements, hotels, parks, and other locations of interest available in the code index. Buildings are depicted in an architectural three dimensional style, while small inset views of Coney Island (not to be confused with its more famous New York counterpart) and Mariemont (a historic village on the city’s outskirts) are included on the map’s right side. The paddle steamer Island Queen can be seen docked in the Ohio River – it was accidentally destroyed in 1947. Crosley Field, home of the Reds from 1912 to 1970, is also depicted among a number of other fascinating locations now missing from a modern view.

The verso provides information on points of interest and a brief history of Cincinnati, in addition to a smaller map of the street lines and bus system.
